How to Learn Something New Using Your iPod or MP3 Player

Introduction
With today’s technology, there are more ways than ever to learn new things. Put your iPod of MP3 player to use to educate yourself while on the move. It’s a great way to make use of spare time while waiting for a doctor’s appointment or while in the motor vehicle line. Just pull out your iPod, listen and learn. But first, you have to download your “lessons.”

A computer
Access to the Internet
An iPod of MP3 player
Steps

Step One
Visit the Apple website for information on iTunes.

Step Two
Locate, and download, the latest version of iTunes to your computer, for free.

Step Three
Open iTunes and click on the iTunes Store.

Step Four
Select “podcasts” and browse through thousands of free podcasts until you find something educational of interest. Examples include learning Spanish, finding God, improving your digital photography skills and more.

Step Five
Clicking on the series of podcasts that appeal to you. Ex. One Minute How-To.

Step Six
View the list of episodes and download the one you want to hear by clicking on “Get Episode.”

Step Seven
The episode(s) will be stored under your “Library” for you to sync with your iPod or MP3 player to listen to. You can listen through your computer as well.

Step Eight
Sync your iPod or MP3 player with your computer by connecting the cable that that came with your iPod to the iPod and the computer. Once the iPod is recognized, click on “File” from the main menu and select “Sync iPod.”

Step Nine
Once the sync has been completed, turn the iPod on, select Podcasts, and choose the podcast you want to listen to.

Step Ten
Revisit the iTunes store and repeat steps 4 to 9, but select “audiobooks” to learn new things by listening to an audiobook, or select “iTunesU” to download classes presented by Universities across the U.S.
